3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
1. Start to grasp just how much
God loves you
“For God so loved the world...”
1 John 4:9-10 This is how God
showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we
might live through him. 10This is love: not that we loved God, but
that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our
sins.
1 John 3:1a How great is
the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of
God…
Ephesians 3:18-19 may [you] have power, together with all the saints,
to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19and
to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the
measure of all the fullness of God.
2. Fully comprehend God’s amazing gift to you
“that he gave his one and only Son...”
John
1:1, 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God… The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his
glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace
and truth.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through
faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- 9not by
works, so that no one can boast.
Romans 3:23-24 …for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that
came by Christ Jesus.
Romans
5:6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died
for the ungodly.
2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for
us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
3. Take him up on his offer to you
“that
whoever believes in him...”
Colossians 3:11 Here
there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian,
slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
Romans 3:22-24 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus
Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall
short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace
through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is
eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Dear
Jesus. I don’t understand it all but I
want a relationship with you. I want to
thank you for loving me. I want to
thank you for coming to earth for me. I
want to thank you for giving your life for me so I could go to heaven. I ask for forgiveness for what I have done
wrong. I accept your free gift of forgiveness and salvation. I want you to be the Savior and Leader of my
life. You call the shots from here on
out. I want to learn to trust you and
to love you and to fulfill your purpose for my life. Amen.
4. Allow his promise to always
give you hope
“shall
not perish but have eternal life.”
1 Peter 1:3-5 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4and into an inheritance
that can never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you, 5who
through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation
that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
1 Peter 1:3-4 (The Message) What a God we have! … Because Jesus was
raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything
to live for, including a future in heaven, and the future starts
now!
