Reaching UP, Reaching OUT, Reaching IN

 

B. Reaching UP

Matthew 22:37-38 Jesus replied: ”‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.

C. Reaching OUT

Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus replied: ”‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

 

The Great Commission: Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

II. What will it take to reach our goals?

Matthew 9:37-38 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

 

We are the WORKERS!

 

With God’s help and by His grace, we need to “TAKE IT UP A NOTCH” in the following areas:

a. OWNERSHIP

 

b. SERVICE

 

c. LEADERSHIP

 

d. GIVING

 

We need to PRAY, then OBEY!

 

Romans 3:23 …for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

 

Dear God, thank You for bringing me here. I knew something was missing in my life, I just didn’t know it was you. Thank you for seeking me even when I’ve ignored you. Today, I recognize the gift that you sent at Christmas. Today, Jesus, I want to accept you into my life and I ask you to forgive me for all of the things I’ve done wrong. I want to accept your gift of help to help me in the present time. I want to accept your gift of eternal life for the future. I ask You, Jesus Christ, to start changing me from the inside out beginning right now. In your name I pray, Amen.
