| Aren’t all religions paths to the same God? |
|
There are a lot of roads in the good ole U.S. of A. Some will get you to where you are going, and some will not. How do you know which road will take you where you want to go? You know the correct path by looking at a map and/or asking for directions. Like roads, there are many religions out there, and they all lead somewhere. The question is, do they lead to the one true God, or do they lead to man’s imagination? Let’s see what the map says, perhaps even asking for directions along the way. God has provided us a map to life called The Bible. No other holy book may boast the accuracy, consistency, prophecy, historicity, and impact on people’s lives than the Bible. The Bible tells us in very plain language, so no one can misunderstand, exactly what the one and only way to God is. That one way is through faith in Jesus Christ. Just as a map shows us that one may get from America to Europe via airplane and not by automobile, the Bible shows us that we get to God through faith in Jesus Christ and not by keeping religious rules and regulations. Having a hard time believing you can trust the map? Well, ask for directions. Whatever you do, do not just pick a road and hope it gets you there. The most sincere faith on the planet will not make your car tread water from America to Europe. Don’t blindly wander the paths of religion, ask directions from someone who knows the way. Ask Paul, a man who made a living persecuting Christians before learning that he was on the wrong road. Paul went cross-country, got on the right road and became one of the greatest Christians to ever live. Ask Peter who is perhaps the most famous example of what God can do with a nobody. His encounter with the risen Christ changed him from being an uneducated fisherman, who more often than not said and did exactly the wrong thing, into the first great leader of the Christian Church. Millions of people all over the world testify to the difference God has made in their life through faith in Christ. Chances are you have a friend that is a believer – ask them what life was like before they knew Christ and what life is like now. But if you’re still not convinced, there is one more person you can ask directions from: Jesus Christ, the architect and builder of the road itself. Jesus came from heaven to earth to pave the way and to show us the way. He paved the way through his death and resurrection; he shows us the way by teaching us to put our faith in him alone. Building and advertising this one way to God was the sole mission of Christ. This mission is what he died for, and his message is proven true by the resurrection, so you might want to listen to him. |
